Pink Banana is a tropical perennial in the banana family that is generally grown as an ornamental. It is hardy to zone 7b and will die to the ground with the cold but reappear in spring. In late summer the creamy flowers with pink bracts are quickly followed by pink fruit.
It prefers humus moist well-drained soils in full sun. You can use it as a specimen or container plant. In colder regions, it will need to be brought indoors or to a greenhouse.
*Not grown by me. Local grower.
Prefers some shade, but will tolerate full sun. Retain adequate soil moisture.
